  1. When was the Society started?
    The ENRS was founded in 1989 and was incorporated in the state of New York as a 501 (c) 6 organization in October 1992.

  4. How/Why did it all begin?
    The ENRS was established in response to the success that the Southeastern Neuroradiological Society and the Western Neuroradiological Society were experiencing at the time. The Founders felt that a society serving Neuroradiologists in the Northeast would produce similar success.

  6. What was the goal?
    The early goals of the Society were stated as follows:

    • To advance the theory and practice on neuroradiology and head and neck radiology and the allied sciences,
    • To enhance the productivity, contributions to quality medical care, recognition and status of neuroradiologists and head and neck radiologists,
    • To foster research in neuroradiology and head and neck radiology, and to encourage the preparation of papers, documents, and reports on neuroradiology and head and neck radiology,
    • To organize and conduct meetings for presentation and discussion of papers and dissemination of knowledge in neuroradiology and head and neck radiology,
    • To promote a close fellowship and to facilitate the communication and exchange of ideas and information among neuroradiologists and head and neck radiologists,
    • To promote close cooperation between neuroradiology and head and neck radiology and other branches of medicine and the allied sciences,
    • To develop and support high standards for training in neuroradiology and head and neck radiology.
    • To develop and support high professional and ethical standards for the technique and practice of neuroradiology and head and neck radiology
    • To foster the study of neuroradiology and head and neck radiology and encourage the personal and professional development of younger neuroradiologists and head and neck radiologists,
    • To encourage, enhance, and support opportunities for practice and research in neuroradiology and head and neck radiology, and
    • To advance the stature and recognition of neuroradiology and head and neck radiology with governmental agencies and to promote the recognition and appreciation of neuroradiology and head and neck radiology by such agencies and by the public in general.
